Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2025. YTBait is built for honesty — including how we handle data.

What YTBait processes

To produce an honesty score, the extension may process:

  • Public video identifiers (e.g. video ID, URL)
  • Public metadata such as title, channel name, and duration
  • Transcript / caption text when available on YouTube

What we do not need

  • Your Google account password
  • Payment card details for the free plan
  • Access to private non-YouTube browsing activity as a product feature

Why we process this data

Solely to evaluate whether a video's packaging matches its content and to return a verdict to you in the extension UI.

Storage

Local extension settings may be stored in browser storage. Aggregated or cached score records may be stored server-side in the future to reduce repeated model calls for the same public video. Personal identity is not required for core scoring.

Third-party model providers

Scoring may call third-party AI APIs with video metadata and transcript context. Those providers process the request content under their own terms. Avoid scoring videos if you are not comfortable with that processing path.
