Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the YTBait website, Chrome extension, and API (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use YTBait.

The service

YTBait provides automated, software-generated honesty and clickbait scores for YouTube videos. Scores, verdicts, and reasons are informational opinions produced by models and heuristics. They are not legal, medical, financial, or journalistic advice, and they are not a determination of truth, intent, or creator character.

Scores can be wrong, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. Captions, titles, and packaging change; models make mistakes. You remain responsible for what you watch and how you act on any result.

Accounts & eligibility

You may use core scoring without an account. Optional Google sign-in unlocks account features such as dashboard history and Pro entitlements. You must provide accurate information, keep your account secure, and not share credentials or extension tokens. One person should use one account; do not create accounts to evade limits or bans.

You must be able to form a binding agreement under applicable law. If you use YTBait on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Plans & billing

  • Free tier. Free use is subject to daily limits on new AI scores (cache hits for already-scored public videos do not count against the free AI quota). Limits may change as we operate the Service.
  • Pro. Paid Pro plans are billed through Dodo Payments. Fees, taxes, and payment methods are processed by that provider under its checkout flow.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law or by the payment provider's policies, fees are generally non-refundable. Contact support if you believe you were charged in error.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Abuse the API, exceed or circumvent rate limits, or automate bulk scoring in a way that degrades the Service
  • Reverse-engineer the Service primarily to game, spoof, or mass- manipulate scoring outcomes
  • Use YTBait to harass creators, coordinate pile-ons, or misrepresent scores as official findings
  • Interfere with security, scrape private data, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Violate YouTube's terms, applicable law, or third-party rights

Intellectual property

YTBait's name, branding, UI, software, and documentation are owned by YTBait or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as provided. You do not acquire ownership of the Service or any score output beyond personal use of the results shown to you.

YouTube videos, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and transcripts remain the property of YouTube and/or their creators. YTBait does not claim ownership of that content.

Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties, including Google (optional OAuth), YouTube (public video data and captions), contracted AI services (uncached scoring from public video metadata and captions only), Cloudflare (hosting), and Dodo Payments (billing). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or content.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YTBAIT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that scores will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YTBAIT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to YTBait for the Service in the three (3) months before the claim, or (b) zero US dollars if you used only the free tier. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

Termination

You may stop using YTBait at any time by uninstalling the extension, signing out, and/or closing your account via support. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is authoritative. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
